SIMPLE SNACK


Fresh Blueberries and Raw Almonds

I learned that it is important to eat nuts when you're eating fruit because it helps stabilize your blood sugar. The healthy fat in nuts slows down the pace of your body's sugar uptake, so you don't get a sugar rush and then a sugar crash.

I know this is a simple snack idea, but I just love this healthy combo for a mid day snack! It is normally hard for me to eat unsalted raw nuts, but when combined with the sweet, juicy blueberries it's great. I think salted nuts clash with the fresh flavor of the fruit too much.
